ARE you ready to be spooked?

It's Hallowe'en next Thursday - and we've got a round-up of some of the ghastly goings-on in Gwent to keep old and young entertained.

Staff at historic Tredegar House in Newport have a host of tricks and treats in store.

The 17th century house has sold out of tickets for its Hallowe'en events on October 31 - but there's still places available for spooky fun on October 30 and November 2.

Visitors can tour the house between 6pm and 9pm, spooky tales are told and the tours will also take in the dark, cold cellars and servant halls.

The drama continues into the night with Dracula's Disco. Tickets must be booked in advance and are priced at adult £7, child £5, family £20 (2 adults and 2 children).

Ring the box office on (01633) 815880.

Something strange is also happening at the Greenmeadow Community Farm, Cwmbran, on October 30 and 31.

Among the entertainments is a tractor ride into the depths of the forest and a disco with the demons. The evening starts at 6pm, tickets are £2.50 per person in advance or £2.75 on the night.

Further afield, there's a host of nature-linked events at the National Wetlands Centre Wales in Llanelli for Hallowe'en.

The centre is inviting you to join their staff and volunteers in a Hallowe'en night of tales.

All children must come in fancy dress to enjoy the full atmosphere of the night.

Spooky games and gruesome 'grub menus' will be on display.

The evening's entertainments start at 5pm and end at 8pm on October 31.

The price is £5 and you must book in advance by calling 01554 741087.
