TIM Harris' side have lost three in a row and the Newport County manager has told his players before tonight's FAW Premier Cup clash against TNS: "I just want a win."

And the Exiles are boosted by the return of defender Steve Benton, who has been out for almost six months after undergoing two operations on his left knee, for their first home Group B fixture.

County fought hard to be a part of the lucrative FAW Premier Cup and on the back of a disappointing early exit in the FA Cup to Team Bath, this competition could be a financial get out of jail card.

The Dr Martens Premier League side have already drawn 1-1 at Connah's Quay Nomads, now they have two home matches in a row starting with TNS tonight (7.30pm) and the reverse fixture with Connah's Quay on November 4.

Reaching the quarter-finals would ensure their coffers swell by £21,000 in prize funds and see a money-spinning home tie with one of Wales' big four clubs - Cardiff City, Swansea City, Wrexham or Barry Town.

Winning home games are, like in any competition, important but County have doubts over midfield duo Mike Fowler (thigh) and Steve Cowe (knee).

Harris insisted: "We need to win a game to install a bit of confidence in the side.

"And if we put in performances like we did on Saturday, where we didn't get the justice we deserved, it will come.

"The defeat by Dover was difficult to take. I couldn't fault the commitment and character of the players, Dover had a couple of chances and scored with one.

"But how can I be pleased because we've lost another game that we have dominated at home to a side who are fourth in the table? However, things are just not going our way. We've got to keep believing in ourselves and turn these results around."

Harris added: "Steve Benton will play a part tonight which is a bonus.

"He's not 100 per cent ready but he needs games."

And Benton himself said: "I'm looking forward to it.

"I'm back in training with the rest of the lads and it's games I need to step my progression up a little further.

"I need a couple of games under my belt. I'm not ready for Dr Martens League football but I think Tim is prepared to put me in for the Cup game which is good."
