THE mother of missing teenager Jenna Baldwin says she cannot imagine Christmas without her daughter.

Jenna aged 15, has not made contact or been seen since she went missing from her Abersychan home on September 10.

There have been whispered or silent calls to the Baldwin's house and in the last two days text messages to mum Desiree.

She fears that they may be from someone pretending to be Jenna.

But one of the phone calls was received by Jenna's brother Josh, aged 10, who is convinced the girl on the end of the phone who whispered she was OK was his big sister.

Jenna also has a little sister called Hannah, aged eight, and Desiree said they appear to be coping well with her disappearance.

Desiree said: "I think they think she's all right, they are too naive to think that anything nasty has happened. They think she has just been naughty and doesn't want to come home.

"As things progress and the police start searching the areas, we will have to sit down and talk to them. The house is just totally different without her."

She added that she is trying not to think about Christmas at the moment.

She said: "If this is going on through that time, the little ones will keep us going. "We would have to do everything as normal but it would be really hard to go through Christmas without Jenna, I cannot imagine it.

"It really hurts to think she has missed six weeks of school with this being her last year. "However, all these things are not important as long as she's all right."

Police escalated their search for Jenna last week by combing nearby woods and fields.

Chief Inspector John Oliver who is heading the investigation said: "We need to receive direct contact from Jenna and I am urging her to speak to an adult member of her family or ourselves.

"Until then we have to maintain the approach that she may have come to some harm." Anyone who has in formation about Jenna is asked to call the incident room on 01495 232260.
