Caldicot 0 Cwmvran Town 5
PROLIFIC goalscorer Chris Summers, pictured, is fast proving his fourth spell with Cwmbran can be as profitable as his previous stints with the League of Wales title hopefuls.
The much-travelled striker is the league's third top all-time goalscorer and, on this form, it won't be too long before he moves to the very top of the hit-list.
Summers grabbed his third goal in as many pre-season games for the Crows, who had to resist a spirited home side.
Indeed, Caldicot might have been a couple of goals up by the time Chris Watkins opened the scoring on eight minutes by firing past former Newport County goalkeeper Peter Mason.
Cwmbran's class in front of goal was emphasised even more after the break with further goals by midfielder Adam Moore and Summers' strike partner Mattie Davies.
Caldicot never gave up, though American trialist Chris Lemons put Cwmbran 4-0 ahead, the Jubilee Way side should have taken advantage of a clear-cut opening minutes later.
After Cwmbran goalkeeper Marty Ellacott missed his clearance some 25 yards out, Caldicot substitute Jacob Guy's pass gave striker Mark Ingles the simplest task of scoring from inside the six-yard area.
However, he only managed to knock the ball against the legs of defender Jason Welsh to complete a quite amazing miss before Summers wrapped up the scoring close to the final whistle.
As both sides send back on already-substituted players, the flow of the game never quite matched that of the first half.
