WEIGHTLIFTING: Micheala Breeze grabbed Wales' second gold of the Commonwealth Games with a surprise win in the 58kg category.
The Watford-born lifter, who qualifies for Wales because she studied at Cardiff University, took the snatch medal ahead of Canadian Maryse Turcotte, but only because her bodyweight was 120 grams lighter.
Both lifters reached the target of 87.5kg - Breeze doing it with her final lift - and when Turcotte failed to lift 90kg it came down to bodyweight.
At 56.83kg, it was Breeze who had the advantage over her ever-so-slightly heavier opponent.
Breeze then picked up two further silver medals in the clean and jerk and overall categories.
But Breeze's coach, Ralph White, claimed she was upset not to have walked away with a triple gold haul.
"She was hoping for all three golds," said White. "So she's a little disappointed. "But I think when she wakes up tomorrow with a gold round her neck she will feel very happy."
India's Sunaina Sunaina took the bronze in all three categories, but it was Turcotte who dominated the competition as she landed two golds to add to her silver won earlier in the day.
