CRACKSHOTS Ceri Dallimore and Johanne Brekke are celebrating after clinching Wales' first gold medals in the Commonwealth Games.
The pair, who came top in the 50-metre rifle prone pairs, are both members of Torfaen Rifle Club and are trained by the chairman - Ceri's dad John.
"I'm absolutely over the moon," said Ceri, 28, a systems analyst who lives in Henllys, Cwmbran, with her partner Kim.
"We knew we had a chance of putting in a good score but you can't really say beforehand because there are such strong contenders."
Johanne, of Cardiff, said: "I'm on cloud nine - still floating around." Former Croesyceiliog School pupil Ceri and Johanne, 25, both receive grants from Elite Cymru to help them compete in the sport.
Ceri's father was there with his wife Margaret to see her claim the gold, and a new Commonwealth Games record.
"I knew they would do well, they have both been shooting really well," said John, of Croesyceiliog, who watched his daughter better his own Games position in two previous championships.
The rest of Ceri's family back in Torfaen were overjoyed with her success. Her aunt, Aileen Edwards, of Thornhill, Cwmbran, said: "We are all very excited." Ceri and Johanne will celebrate tonight before concentrating on their next big challenge. On Saturday, they compete against each other in the individual competition but Johanne says it will be "good fun".
Fingers crossed the two women's aim will once again be on target and they can bring even more medals home to Wales.
