A TRIBUTE gig to Jon Lee will be held in Newport this September to raise funds for his family.
Friends and former band mates of the late Feeder drummer plan to re-form every band Jon was in before he moved from Newport to London.
Each band will play with stand in drummers all of whom knew Jon and play in well known bands themselves.
All funds raised will be given to Jon's widow Tatiana and son rather than the Noah's Ark fund for which funds were raised at Jon's funeral.
Jon played in five bands before leaving Newport to seek his fortune in London. New Image, Mad Hatter, Ritzi, Eleventh Hour and The Average Cab Band have all got back together for this gig.
Special guests include Jeff, Ginge and Benji from SkinDred. Ginge, the band's drummer, will play with one of Jon's old bands, while his SkinDred cohorts may play an acoustic set. Richard Parfitt, Geraint and Andrea of the Darling Buds may appear, and Rob Welding, drummer with The Racing Cars.
Tickets go on sale in August from Spillers, Rockaway Records, Hitman and Diverse. For more information ring Transpose Studios on 01633 854100.
