EBBW Vale Rugby Club were still desperately waiting for a decision on their future today.
With time running out, Welsh Rugby Union chairman Glanmor Griffiths had still not given Vale any indication whether they would be able to help them.
The club have highlighted a cash flow problem so severe that unless the WRU come to their aid by fast forwarding some of the money they are due to receive anyway, they will go out of business later today.
This month's wages at Eugene Cross Park are in peril and Vale have told the WRU they must know if they are able to move funds around and help solve the cash flow problems. If they can't help, Vale chairman Marcus Russell (pictured) has made it clear the club will cease to exist.
"No cash flow, no business," he said dramatically this week. Griffiths initially indicated the chances were good. "I believe we will be able to get together and ensure Premier Division rugby in Ebbw Vale next season," he said. But the alarm bells were starting to ring this morning when there was still no indication of a decision.
And Griffiths went into a WRU management board meeting with a long agenda and likely to last for hours.
Rockport, the fashion clothing and footwear company and sister company of WRU kit sponsors Redstone, will be Wales' new jersey sponsors.
Premier Division clubs still don't know their fixtures for certain next season. The launch was postponed a second time today as the situation descended into farce, given some club's lists have been published.
