CONTROVERSIAL Assembly Member Ron Davies is to marry his partner, Lynne Hughes.
The ceremony will take place on August 5 in the couple's local register office in Caerphilly.
Ms Hughes, 36, is 20 years younger than Mr Davies. They met on a course in Aberystwyth three years ago.
At the time Mr Davies was dealing with the fallout from his "moment of madness" when the then Welsh secretary was robbed by a stranger he met on Clapham Common.
The incident led to speculation about his private life and cost him his job and the leadership of the Welsh Labour Party.
Mr Davies has since been elected AM for Caerphilly, where his fiance is a council community education manager.
Mr Davies said: "When I met Lynne the last thing I was looking for was any kind of emotional entanglement. But some people have a strong mutual attraction and it was that with me and Lynne."
