A DISTRAUGHT dad is appealing for news of his wife and two young children who went missing almost week ago.
Julie Horton, aged 40, disappeared with Celina, aged 18 months, and Shannon, aged five, on Sunday.
Her husband, Paul, and police are worried for the safety of the family who haven't been seen or heard from since their disappearance.
Mr Horton said: "I am worried about my children and would like to see them again."
He last saw them at 3pm on Sunday at their home in Monnow Way but when he returned from a fishing trip at 10pm they had disappeared. Police are unsure of why Mrs Horton left with the children.
PC Dick Thomas said: "We are very concerned and we are worried about Julie's and the children's well being.
"She left her clothes but took some of the children's stuff but not Celina's pram.
"We just want to know that they are OK. We have checked with friends and relatives but nobody has seen or heard anything.
"Julie is not in any trouble and if she wants her whereabouts to remain private we would respect that.
"We need to know that her and the children are safe, as she has an 18 month-old with her she could find it difficult to find accommodation."
Police are appealing for Mrs Horton and the children to go into any police station to let them know that they are well. Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call Bettws police on 01633 854847.
