FIFTY-two women workers from Chepstow's Tesco store put their best feet forward in the Race for Life yesterday.
The staff were all taking part in the event to raise funds for Cancer Research. The women, aged between 17 and 56, and dressed in pink T-shirts with intertwined hearts on the front, travelled to Bute Park, Cardiff, by coach to join thousands of others on the five kilometre route of the 'race'.
Christine Davies, 56, of St David's Close, Chepstow, said: "This is the first time we have been able to get together because we all work different shifts .
"I don't think anybody has done any serious practice . It's a fun event for a good cause. We have raised somewhere around £2,500 but a lot of the girls are still collecting, so the final amount may be even more."
