MONMOUTH'S Lisa Rogers helped kick-start a national fundraising drive for a sports charity.
The television presenter yesterday helped launch the donation line for Sports Relief by being winched up a 40-metre mast by sports stars and other celebrities including rugby league star Martin Offiah.
As she got to the top of the mast, the donation line number was revealed on a huge 20-metre sail of the catamaran, Maiden 2, which broke the 24 hour world speed sailing record by clocking 697 miles on June 13.
On Saturday Lisa will be back in action - this time on the ground - as she hosts a special edition of the classic 70s' show Superstars on BBC 1 as part of the charity's fund raising night.
During its campaign the charity is encouraging people to get active through sport-related activities to raise money for children and young people who are leading tough lives.
*The Sports Relief donation line telephone number is 08457 910 910. For more information on Sport Relief and its fund-raising activities visit the Internet website at www.sportrelief.com
