THE Rough Guides series of books have taken readers around the world safely - and now they're coming to see you.
Put together by Rough Guides and Creu Cymru, the Rough Guide to Cymru tour visits Blackwood Miners' Institute on Saturday night.
Fernhill, Wales' favourite traditional band, will be mixing folk songs with dance rhythms in a team-up with Bridgend concertina player John Morgan for the show.
They will be joined on stage by uncompromising performance poet Ifor ap Glyn, winner of the poetry crown at the 1999 National Eisteddfod.
The 11-date tour is the first of a series of six planned over the next three years planned to reacquaint Wales with its traditional music and traditions.
It also aims to showcase vibrant Welsh artists and prove that Welsh culture is not only alive and well but doing better than ever.
The show starts at 8pm and will be partly subtitled for non-Welsh speakers. Tickets are £7 or £6 concessions.
