TONY Willcox has flatly quashed speculation that he's to quit Cwmbran Town and be appointed manager of Merthyr Tydfil declaring: 'I'm committed to the Crows.'
Willcox, who's just completing his testimonial year at Cwmbran, insists he is to repay the "loyalty and commitment" that Town chairman John Colley has shown in him. "This is the first I've heard of the rumour," laughed Willcox.
"Merthyr is a big club but I don't think anything of the speculation. "My chairman has been first class and there is no way I would leave unless he wanted me to.
"John Colley has shown great loyalty and commitment to me since I became manager of this club in 1992 and I am as committed to him and Cwmbran Town Football Club."
Gwent's only League of Wales club looked good for a league, Welsh Cup and League Cup treble two months ago until their form nose-dived.
However, the League Cup final showdown with Caersws next Monday at Aberystwyth, will give Willcox a great chance to win his first piece of silverware for ten years.
