TONY Willcox admits Cwmbran Town's lack of firepower in front of goal is his biggest concern going into his side's League Cup semi-final second-leg showdown with Carmarthen Town tonight (7.45pm).
With 22-goal hitman Craig Hughes banned and 13-goal striker Mattie Davies and ten-goal playmaker Anthony Wright both cup-tied, Cwmbran's goal-shy nature is giving Town boss Willcox sleepless nights.
But he warned his players this morning: "We must take responsibility in front of goal tonight otherwise we will get beaten."
In Davies' absence, Chris Watkins will probably start up-front alongside Sean Mainwaring, who has been playing as a make-shift striker in recent games.
Before Saturday's 2-0 win at Caernarfon Town - where Davies bagged a brace - Town had not scored in three games. But Willcox hopes the players hunger for success and a last chance to get their hands on some silverware will boost them tonight.
"This is our last chance saloon," Willcox warned his players. "This is our final opportunity to win some silverware this term.
"The players know that and I am certain they won't want to end his season empty handed."
Two months ago, the Crows were gunning for a League of Wales, Welsh Cup and League treble - but since then their season has fallen down around their ears.
Six league defeats from ten games has kicked them out of the championship race and a humiliating defeat at Welsh League Division One Ton Pentre dumped them from the Welsh Cup.
Crippling injuries and suspensions to their key players have desomated Tony Willcox's already small squad - but they have a full compliment to choose from tonight for a chance to play either TNS or Caersws at in the final at Aberystwyth's on Monday, May 6 (2.30pm).
Cwmbran go into the tie as f avourites after securing a goalless draw at Richmond Park two weeks ago, but Willcox warned: "Carmarthen's will come out all guns blazing."
