MORE than a thousand Cubs, Scouts and Beavers from Newport marched through the city yesterday to honour their patron saint, St George.
After marching from Stow Hill the boys and their parents were joined by Newport mayor Councillor Ron Morris for the annual service at the United Reformed Church in Victoria Street.
Mum Jocelyn Price, whose three sons were part of the procession, said: "The boys all come from the Newport area and the 28 groups are all represented.
"After the service the boys marched back up towards Stow Hill before they dispersed."
