EUROPEAN Cup hopefuls Llanelli are waiting on some of their big guns before naming their team to play Ebbw Vale in tomorrow's Principality Cup semi-final.
Injuries to Wales stars Chris Wyatt, pictured, and Robin McBryde, among others, means they have had to delay naming their side.
Vale are also due to decide their side today, so both sides are keeping their cards close to their chests.
Lock Wyatt has a calf strain and hooker McBryde a foot injury, but the biggest concern is prop Martyn Madden who has not trained all week with a calf injury.
Vale are well aware they face an up-hill task to beat Llanelli at the Millennium Stadium, even though the Scarlets are without British Lion and Wales captain Scott Quinnell with a knee injury.
Former Wales wing Wayne Proctor is also struggling with a leg injury.
But Llanelli can still count on a strong back row including flankers Ian Boobyer and Simon Easterby, the latter fresh from playing for Ireland last weekend, plus US Eagles number eight David Hodges.
Vale are hoping Llanelli's eyes will be on the European Cup semi-final in Nottingham in a fortnight.
Llanelli have already beaten Vale 46-16 at Stradey Park in the opening Welsh/Scottish League match and 16-3 at Eugene Cross Park in February, but with no automatic European place for the winners, some have said the cup has no value.
Not so, according to Llanelli coach Gareth Jenkins, who cited the example of Ebbw Vale's thrilling 27-22 quarter-final win over Pontypool as a good example of high-adrenalin cup rugby.
He said: "It's the chance for every club to have their moment of glory. From my point of view, it's as big as the European Cup semi-final and I am making sure my players are focused against a side who everyone has been writing off. We aren't doing that.
"We are expecting a tough game and we realise we will have to be at our best if we want to progress."
