WELSH rugby legends Phil Bennett and Bobby Windsor were the guest speakers at a charity fundraising dinner in County Hall, Cwmbran.
The event was organised by the Welsh Charitables, a group of former players dedicated to raising funds for worthy causes.
Among the other big names attending, along with local businesses, were ex-British Lion Bryn Meredith and Paul Thorburn.
The focus of the Sportsmen's Dinner, held on the eve of the Wales v Scotland international in Cardiff on Saturday, was the Mayor of Torfaen's 'Our Families' Appeal.
Over the last year, the appeal has collected money for the PROGRESS prostate cancer support group, The Meningitis Trust, Ty Hafan Children's Hospice and St David's Hospice.
Its total has been boosted by the Welsh Charitables, whose charity rugby matches and latest venture have helped to raise several thousand pounds for the four causes.
