CAERLEON travelled to Nantyglo on Saturday and pulled off one of the biggest comebacks of the season winning 43-27.
Nantyglo started well and their mobile pack soon created problems for Caerleon although Caerleon's scrummage was dominant throughout the game.
Nantyglo opened the scoring with a penalty quickly followed by a converted try. Caerleon replied with a try from all action flanker John Miller, converted by Dave Cook. Nantyglo then ran in two tries in quick succession, one converted.
Caerleon replied with a try from Chris Ash bringing the half-time score to 20-12. After the break Nantyglo scored another converted try bringing the score to 27-12.
At this point club captain Tony Delaney joined the game as hooker and provided direction for Caerleon who promptly ran in tries from David Cook, debutante flanker John Gaunt, Nathan George and finally Tony Delaney, Dave Cook converted a total of four bringing his points tally for the match to 13 and Caerleon's to 43. Caerleon winners 27-43.
