'I WANT to make the outside half position in the Welsh team my own,' says Iestyn Harris, scorer of Wales' 10 points at Twickenham.
"I've still got a lot to learn and I'm on my own personal journey," said Harris, pictured here facing opposite number Jonny Wilkinson in the Six Nations match on Saturday.
"There are always going to be critics, but I'll just get on with my own game. I'll work hard, and my ambition is to make the number 10 jersey my own.
"I want to get to know the number 10 shirt inside out, I think I'm getting there slowly.
"Stephen Jones is playing exceptionally well, but hopefully I'll get the nod."
Harris blamed lack of possession for Wales' record defeat.
"If the opposition have 80% possession then you're going to fail," he said.
"I didn't want to lose by 50 points, but we were chasing a lot of ball and they played well.
"But it's easy to do that when you've got a lot of ball. If we'd had 50-50 possession it would have been a different game.
"The way we started was the way we wanted to play all through, but we didn't have a lot of possession and I was quite disappointed with the result.
"When a team has that much ball you are going to run out of steam.
"It's always painful to lose by 50 points, we didn't play as well as we could and we didn't hold the ball.
"They were the superior team, but though disappointed we're not disheartened.
"Hopefully we'll take a lot out of it. We matched them in certain parts, but we've got to pick ourselves up for Scotland and start again.
"We've got to get better for Scotland."
