THE bad news this week, is that if you have not got your tickets for Reel Big Fish in TJ's on Saturday it is already sold out.
But if you have missed out on seeing the ska-punk pioneers, TJ's has something on almost every night this week.
MU330 who describe their sound as 'psycho-ska' are purists to the hardcore scene. Best known for 1997's Crab Rangoon album, MU330, who hail from St Louis are renowned for their fast and furious live performances packed with acme ska guitar riffs and bass lines.
The night is promoted by Set It Off promotions and tickets for the night cost £6. Support is from No Comply.
Other gigs coming up in TJ's this week include Thursday's gig with Wildge and Sounds' favourites The Toe. Entry is a measly £2.50.
Away from Newport, Jock popsters The Supernaturals want you to party likes it's 1997, in Barfly this week.
The melody friendly Glasgow band, who nearly rose to fame on the coat tails of Britpop had three top 20 hits including the infectious Love.
And they are best known for the hit Smile, which was nominated for an Ivor Novello award back in 1998.
They have a new single out in May called "What We Did Last Summer", and to promote their comeback they play in Barfly, tonight. Tickets are £6 in advance. And talking of comebacks, Toby Jepson, lead singer of Scarborough's very own Bon Jovi, the Little Angels, is on a similar trail this week in Cardiff.
Jepson was the singer in the shaggy permed five piece and had 12 top 40 hits, including Too Much Too Young, in the late 80s and early 90s.
Since the Angels split Toby has been busy working in films, but has established himself as a quality songwriter, and is Barfly on Tuesday night.
Elsewhere, Mclusky hold their second album launch party in Barfly on Monday, the follow up to the louder than loud power punk of My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours.
And FF Vinyl, who have brought us the likes of Rocket Goldstar and Amy Wadge hold their second birthday party in Barfly on Thursday. Tickets are by invitation only.
