TIM Harris faces a major selection headache ahead of Newport County's league clash at struggling Cambridge City tonight (7.45pm) as all of his recognised strikers are missing.
Garry Shephard is out for the rest of the season, Martin Paul and Lee Philips are both injured while academy duo Raith Plant and Lewis Sommers are playing in the English Schools Cup this afternoon.
And Exiles boss Harris quipped: "I've even put my shooting boots on and had a practice."
But Harris admits he is still unsure who will lead the line.
The Exiles boss could push midfielders Darren Ryan and Matt Rose up-front, like he did on separate occasions in their 2-0 home defeat by Worcester City on Saturday, or maybe throw veteran centre-back Jeff Eckhardt in as a make-shift striker.
Either way a repeat of last term's 11-goal thriller seems unlikely.
County were on a three-game winning streak before Saturday's hiccup against Worcester. And Harris is keen to get back on another victory trail at the City Ground tonight against a Cambridge side lying one place above the Dr Martens Premier League drop-zone.
"We had to take stock after Saturday's defeat," he said. "We must pick ourselves up and be positive tonight so we can get another win under our belts.
"We had been on a good run until the Worcester game. That was a bit of a set-back but we must go and play with a lot more passion and desire than we did on Saturday.
"Cambridge are struggling at the bottom of the table and will fight for everything, but it's not about the way they play it's about the way we play.
"We must battle for everything and earn the right to pick up three points which can hopefully spur us onto another little winning run."
Harris could give new signing Michael Fowler his first start while midfielder Nathan Davies (calf) is doubtful while right-winger Stuart James (knee) is out.
This is the start of a four-game away run for County as they visit Folkestone Invicta on Saturday, Hednesford Town next Monday and Havant and Waterlooville Saturday week. Meanwhile, defender Ryan Souter has left County and joined Dr Martens League Western Division side Weston-Super-Mare.
