GWENT'S four players in the Wales squad have all retained their places for the England showdown at Twickenham on Saturday.

Newport trio Andy Marinos, Chris Anthony and Ian Gough plus Ebbw Vale's Iestyn Thomas are all in the squad of 23 named by Wales caretaker coach Steve Hansen today.

Marinos, Anthony and Thomas are certain to retain their places in the team when it is announced on Wednesday.

But Gough is coming under pressure from a fit-again Llanelli lock Chris Wyatt.

Making a return to the Welsh squad is Swansea flanker Colin Charvis, back in the fold after his controversial decision to go on a holiday to Jamaica when he thought Wales had a week free of training.

He is now back in favour under Hansen, though he may have to wait to reclaim his place in the team.

Nathan Budgett, the Bridgend and former Ebbw Vale player, has recovered from an ankle injury and is expected to keep his place, especially in view of his line-out ability.

Cardiff's utility back Rhys Williams, scorer of an electrifying try against Italy in Wales' last match, is named despite a broken bone in his hand.

Tom Shanklin is also included though he has not played since the France match because of a thigh injury.

Back in favour as cover for Williams and Shanklin is Gareth Thomas, an absentee this season, even out of the A squad after not turning up for training.
