CROSS Keys can take another step towards Welsh First Division safety with a victory over struggling Treorchy at Pandy Park tomorrow night (7:15pm), writes Paul Tully.
Keys are currently in 11th spot in the table, five points clear of the bottom three relegation zone.
Treorchy are two places and four points below them so a Keys win will give them extra breathing space.
Keys won 22-13 at Llanharan last time out, their second win in five games. Treorchy have not won in ten games, losing nine and drawing one.
Keys make seven changes from the Llanharan game, one positional. David Price replaces the unavailable Steve Reed in the centre, Chris Arnold takes over from Sean Marshall on the left wing and Andy Boyd replaces Neil Hope at scrim half.
Up front, Jason Rogers replaces the injured Ian Evans at prop, Lee Gardner replaces Feao Vunipola at hooker and in the back row Matthew Wood plays on the flank with Steve Gardner replacing the unavailable Andrew Gibbs at No 8.
Cross Keys: J Pizey, N McKim, G Bowen, D Price, C Arnold, G Worgan, A Boyd, J Rogers, L Gardner, D Crimmins, C Heaven, M Veater, D Gibbs, M Wood, S Gardner. Replacements: N Hope, M McCarthy, R Davies, G Stroud, F Vunipola, D Staveley, P Watkins. Meet 6pm.
l The International Rugby Board (IRB) will hold a meeting in Cardiff next week to discuss the World Cup row concerning New Zealand and Australia.
New Zealand have had their invitation to co-host the 2003 event with Australia withdrawn after failing to meet certain conditions by the deadline.
They have accused the IRB of putting financial considerations ahead of rugby considerations and New Zealand Rugby Union chief executive David Rutherford has complained that IRB chairman Vernon Pugh, who is in Australia, has not spoken to anyone from New Zealand over the matter.
Swansea centre Mark Taylor and Pontypridd prop Gethin Jenkins have been added to the Wales squad for the clash with England at Twickenham on March 23, though neither will play.
