A GWENT NHS worker has her head in the clouds after being invited to compete for a dream holiday on the National Lottery Jet Set programme.

Single-mum Katrina Campbell, 28, from Maindee, Newport will be among nine panellists taking part in the Departure Lounge quiz which will precede the BBC 1 Wednesday lottery draw on March 20.

And if Katrina, a clerical officer at Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital, is among the six winning contestants from that night, she will go through to a live final where up for grabs will be a luxurious holiday for her and workmate Rhiannon Thomas, 24, from St Julian's. The six contestants on Saturday's show test their general knowledge with one victorious panellist going head to head against last week's Jet Set winner, who has to win to stay on their dream break.

Contestants never know where they will be flying off to until the Saturday night show. But some of the locations they have already visited include Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, St Lucia, Hong Kong, Miami and Rio de Janiero.

Regardless of whether she is successful on the show, presented by Eamonn Holmes, for Katrina her impending TV appearance will give her the glimpse of the fame she craves. Speaking from the home she shares with son Max, four, in London Street, Katrina told the Argus: "Basically I am a wannabee and have entered Big Brother twice and entered Soap Stars and got through the early auditions.

"I am delighted to be invited to appear on the show but it must have been my sparkling personality that shone through as in the auditions I only got six out of 20 questions right!" Katrina and Rhiannon have already packed their bags, had travel jabs and dusted off their passports just in case their number comes up.

A BBC spokeswoman told the Argus: "The National Lottery Jet Set is the quiz show that offers contestants a chance to win a once-in-a lifetime experience, sampling the kind of glamorous lifestyle which is only enjoyed by members of the jet set."

The Wednesday show goes out at 8.50pm on BBC 1 Wales and the live Saturday draw programme starts at 7.35pm.
