SUCCESSFUL boss Riley Gray has intimated to Tredegar Town that he intends stepping aside at the end of the season.
He guided the club from the Gwent County League into the Welsh League where they are involved in the chase for a place in the top flight.
Tredegar, under Gray, won the Third Division at the first attempt and now hold third place in Division Two, although their promotion dreams received a setback last week, beaten at home by promotion rivals Porth Tywyn, second in the table.
Tyrone Gray, the manager's son, who missed the 4-2 defeat through injury, hopes to make a return for tomorrow's trip to Taffs Well, never a happy-hunting ground for Tredegar in league encounters.
At the other end of the division, Treowen, one rung off the bottom, are at home to fellow strugglers Morriston with player-manager Richard Davies admitting that nothing less than a win will suffice.
Four points separate the sides and Davies said: "We have got to get within touching distance. We have to take three points and that's it."
Treowen are strengthened by the return of striker Jan Cegielski and John Thompson in goal while young front runner Dai Stevenson, who scored both goals in the draw against Chepstow last week, has a knee injury and faces a late fitness test and so too does sweeper and captain Richard Molyneux.
Llanwern travel to Garw in Division One with student Azeez Anifowoshe in the squad for the first time.
With Graham Poyner still missing with a groin injury, player-manager Adriano Girolami absent because of a two-match ban, Matthew Pimm doubtful because of work and Lee Ashman and Jason Evans unavailable, the young striker could well make an appearance at some stage.
Division Three leaders Newport YMCA look to get back on the win trail after being held at home by Seven Sisters last week.
Manager Mike James said: "We have to perform better than last Saturday or we face dropping more points."
Darren Bidgood remains a doubt because of an ankle injury but defender Ben Hillman is back in the frame after a brief run-out as a substitute against Seven Sisters, having been sidelined for three months with a knee ligament injury.
Top game in the division features third-placed Caldicot at Pontypridd who are immediately behind them, five points adrift and two games in hand.
