THERE is one club night and one technology showcase happening in South Wales this weekend every clubber should know about.
Tomorrow night in Clwb Ifor Bach Monkey Tennis return for a night of freak beat, 60s vibes and general ecleticism.
The primate DJs take over the middle floor while JT Mouse and friends DJ upstairs. JT Mouse is an acclaimed acoustic singer-songwriter based in Cardiff.
Tomorrow the Cardiff-based record label Plastic Raygun in association with designers from Caerleon college showcase the world's first video mixer.
The canny gismo allows for the manipulation of video in the same way DJs scratch records.
The result is a video projection that moves in time to the rhythm of the video DJ. Video DJing is not new, but video scratching is.
The showcase happens in Catapult Records, High Street Arcade, Cardiff at 5pm. Live techno outfit, Dynamo Dresden, will use the video mixer at a gig in The Emporium, High Street, Cardiff that night. Dial (029) 2066 4577 for more information.
