CAERLEON Seconds entertained a Tesco select side at the Broadway this weekend. Tesco included several players from Newport and District but were no match for Caerleon's mixture of youth and experience, the home side running out 64-5 winners.
Prop Chris Meredith, playing his first game of the season, powered over for Caerleon's first try. Excellent work by debutant second row Huw Rostrum led to Richie Parselle scoring Caerleon's second. Centre Jim MacDougall danced over for Caerleon's third.
Then all action flanker Paul Lewis crashed over for Caerleon's fourth. Tesco fought back with a try of their own but it soon returned to one-way traffic again, Chris Harris and Chris Ash who both played four different positions during the game scored a try each before another debutant Hugh Price scored.
Dave Cook dummied his way over before wing Oliver Bryan scored two tries to round the game off.
