A GWENT couple are facing charges that they neglected their baby son and caused him grievous bodily harm after he was found dead at their home.
Kevin Bevan and Zahirra Boder, formerly of Beech Grove, Duffryn, Newport, are due to appear in court on Thursday.
They will face their first hearing before magistrates in Cwmbran after being arrested on December 19 and released on police bail.
The court hearing follows a police investigation into the death of their son, Adam, aged four weeks.
On Tuesday last week, the couple were re-interviewed by police and formally charged with the offences against their dead son.
Both Kevin Bevan and Zahirra Boder face a number of charges including causing grievous bodily harm with intent and neglect of a four-week-old child.
It is understood that the couple no longer live at the Duffryn address.
A police spokesman said: "I can confirm that the couple have been charged and will appear before Cwmbran magistrates on Thursday morning."
