NEWBRIDGE outside half Jason Williams (pictured) has received a special presentation at the Welfare Ground clubhouse to mark a rare feat.
Williams is only the second Welsh player behind the great Neil Jenkins to have passed 2,000 league points.
Jenkins has a career total of 2,263 league points since leagues started in September, 1990.
Williams' 247 points this season have taken him to an overall total of 2,113 and within range of Jenkins, who has been out of action all season with injury.
"Jason's feat is a great one," said a club spokesman. "Only once in the past six seasons has he failed to pass 200 points and in each of the past three, and he will certainly achieve it this season, he has passed 300.
"And there's plenty of mileage in the tank. He is playing as well as ever."
