THE WIFE of a cyclist who died after being in an accident with a car has spoken of the loss of her "rock".
Ambulance trust worker Graham Price, 46, was in collision with a car as he was cycling to work along the A467 Risca bypass on Monday, December 17.
He was taken to Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital with serious head injuries, before being transferred to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
He died as a result of his injuries on December 20 and his grieving widow Jane paid tribute to him at their home in Rhiwderin.
"Graham was a much-loved and respected member of the community," she said. "He was a keen cyclist, who would have been seen around the roads of Gwent on his much-loved bike."
Mrs Price said her husband's tragic death had taken a terrible toll on their three children, Gregg, Stuart and Lauren.
She said: "He was our rock and our ray of sunshine. We are finding his loss unbearable. Graham is, and always will be, loved."
She also thanked Gwent Police family liaison officer Sergeant Gary Morgan for all his "caring, thoughtful help and support during our tragedy". An investigation into the accident continues.
