RESIDENTS in Blaenau Gwent are being urged to make their views known on their main concerns on crime.
Blaenau Gwent council, Gwent Police and other key agencies are aiming to improve safety and reduce crime in the community by consulting the public.
The last time people were asked, anti-social behaviour and problems with youths were the two main concerns.
The others were drug and alcohol misuse; burglary, crimes involving mot-or vehicles; violence and hate crimes including domestic violence; road accidents and casualties. From April 1 there will be a revised community safety strategy which will focus on priority areas.
Crime statistics now indicate drugs and violence have slightly increased, along with public disorder offences.
Residents have until December 31 to give their views.
They will be asked to state their order of concern about a series of crimes and issues such as car theft or alcohol misuse.
Residents can either contact Keith Jones, head of corporate and legal services, by writing to the Civic Centre, Ebbw Vale, or telephone 01495 355080.
