PAUL MAYO gave a five star display in the Regus-sponsored South Wales PGA meeting over his home Newport course - but still had to play second fiddle to the hugely-talented Sion Bebb.
Mayo, twice winner of the Welsh Professional Championship and a former British Amateur Open title holder, fired a six-under 66 but finished three strokes behind PGA Cup player Bebb who was in irrepressible shape.
Bebb who collected an array of birdies, actually had a hole-in-one at the 170 yard 16th with a nine iron to help him towards top spot in the meeting.
Mayo, who won the opening meeting of the winter at Pyle and Kenfig in October, did not figure in last month's contest at Royal Porthcawl but came good again in the Newport get-together.
Cardiff pair Adam Constable and James Lee finished third and fourth with scores of 67 and 68 respectively.
