A TALENTED son of Newport returns to the town tonight with his production of Death and the Maiden at the Dolman Studio.
Gareth Lloyd, 20, from Allt-y-yn, is currently completing a drama course at Reading Repertory College, and together with colleagues Alicia Stevens, and Robin March, has hit the road with an adaptation of the powerful Ariel Dorfman drama.
The trio have named themselves Rag Productions, and so far, they have garnered rapturous reviews for their version of Death and the Maiden.
Mr Lloyd went to Bedwas School, and may be remembered by Mono and Argus readers for his performances in Henry the Fifth, and Macbeth, at Monmouth Castle, last year - so impressing former Labour leader Neil Kinnock, he decided to sponsor part of Mr Lloyd's course at Reading.
He looks a shining prospect, so why not catch Rag Productions at the Dolman Studio, with their version of an extremely powerful, adult-orientated drama. Death and the Maiden plays the Dolman Studio on Friday November 30, and Saturday December 1.
Performances are at 2pm and 8pm, and tickets are priced at £6.50/£5. Box office: 07876 654500.
