NEWPORT County pair Jason Perry and Garry Shephard face a fitness race ahead of the FA Cup first round replay with Second Division Blackpool at Newport Stadium on Wednesday.
Shephard limped off just before half-time against Tiverton on Saturday and Perry lasted nine minutes into the second-half, both suffering ankle trouble.
County manager Tim Harris wasn't happy with some of the treatment dished out to Shepard, saying: "He didn't receive a lot of protection from the referee."
Harris admitted: "There is a slight worry over both players and you have to be sensible about these things. There is no point in taking a chance. You have got to think about the weeks ahead - not just Wednesday."
Harris has made an impassioned plea to fans for big support at Wednesday's cup replay. Casting his eyes to the new temporary stand brought in for the match, he said: "Please come and fill it."
It seems likely Harris will get his wish. Weekend ticket sales have taken the figure to the 3,300 mark.
Harris commented: "There are still tickets available and I just want to make sure we fill the ground and make the evening a memorable occasion."
Tickets are on sale today and tomorrow at the Stadium (10 am to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm).
