FOLLOWING their highly successful tour last year, the internationally acclaimed Chorus of Welsh National Opera visit Ebbw Vale, Brecon, and Cardiff this December.
The programme, which includes such famous choruses as Va, pensiero from Nabucco, The Soldiers Chorus from Gounod's Faust, The Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana and the Toreador's song from Carmen, will be conducted by Welsh National Opera Chorus Master Anthony Walker, with piano accompaniment.
For part of the evening the chorus will be joined by the popular Australian soprano, Natalie Christie, who has delighted WNO audiences as Eurydice in Orpheus and Eurydice, and Pamina in The Magic Flute.
The Chorus of Welsh National Opera became professional in 1968, and since then they have gone from strength to strength gathering plaudits from critics and public alike. Billy Budd (The Times), describes them as: "beyond praise - a shattering evening." l The Chorus of the WNO visit Cardiff's Coal Exchange December 11.
