On November 25, Bush, pictured, will be back in Newport for the first time in three years.

For Nigel Pulsford, the band's guitarist, it is his first trip home in a while. He left town at the age of three when his family moved to Bournemouth.

However, you cannot keep local talent down for long, within a few (well, perhaps slightly more than a few!) years he had met Gavin Rossdale and formed one of the most original and progressive rock bands in the country.

Strangely though, they haven't really gained the recognition they deserve in the UK and many people would probably say "Bush who?"

But for those who have discovered them, they have been a refreshing change from the rest of the chart-friendly rubbish our bands are famed for spurting out.

Bush are still producing quality music with the raw, honest edge to it that other bands lost back in 1995.

So why don't we know who they are when they've made it so big in America?

Nigel suggests that it is due to the significant number of rock radio shows Stateside.

Radio stations in this country are very chart orientated and new music rarely gets a chance to be previewed to the general public on a large scale.

What have we got? Kerrang Radio, which is only transmitted to the greater Manchester area, and maybe a couple of hours a week on the Radio One Rock Show.

Yet it only takes a few airplays of a song before people begin to discover a band.

This is exactly what happened to Bush in America. A song was played and people were listening.

They began to tour extensively and thus managed to crack the American market, something that most bands never accomplish.

Nigel is looking forward to bringing the music back to Britain and is hoping to gain more fans this time around.

One thing he thinks that's guaranteed to attract attention is front man Gavin's pretty face.

Although the pair started the band together he accepts that Gavin gets a lot more of the limelight than him because: "He's a good looking boy, all the mothers love him!"

And if good old rugged English looks aren't enough to draw in the crowds, the live shows definitely will!

Nigel tells us to expect the show to be an exciting, exhilarating, mind boggling extravaganza!

With that in mind it seems that Bush will have a lot to live up to.
