PUPILS at a Newport school don't have to rush to the windows to take in the view from now on.
There's a view of it inside the building.
All 440 pupils at Pentrepoeth Primary created a tapestry called 'Flying High' with the help of parents and adult helpers.
The youngsters designed and created the woven work of art, watched over by professional tapestry weaver Alastair Duncan, from Swansea.
The project was devised by the school's art co-ordinator, Tina Richards, and the tapestry was paid for with a grant from the Arts Council of Wales and funds raised by the Parent-Teacher Association.
Headteacher Jeff Eynon said the tapestry was completed in the summer term by both whole classes of pupils and small groups.
"Weaving is done as part of the arts and crafts curriculum," he said. "Smaller pieces have also been created and are on display but the tapestry will be on permanent display.
"We are all very pleased with it. The children visited an art gallery while preparing to carry out the work and learned a lot about the techniques involved. They did lots of sketches and designs."
