SPEEDWAY rider Phil Morris has walked out of hospital despite suffering a bad crash for the Great Britain Lions at Newport.
The Reading Racer, from Cwmfelinfach, was taken to the Royal Gwent after hitting the crash barrier in Sunday's 47-43 defeat against Australian Kangeroos. Morris hit the barrier while in the lead during heat two, but despite his visit to hospital was released on Sunday night.
Newport promoter Tim Stone said: "I rang Phil on Monday morning and he left the hospital before I left the stadium.
"He was fine, I think his pride was more battered and bruised than he was."
