WELSH League club Caerleon will issue a statement tonight following the departure of manager Andrew Beattie and assistant Mike Powell.

First Division Caerleon have decided that neither Beattie or Powell can remain at Coldbath Road after initially agreeing they would stay for a month until replacements were named.

Caerleon were upset by some of the comments made by Beattie when his resignation announcement was made last Friday and decided the pair could no longer remain. The club's committee will meet tonight to discuss the whole affair. Third Division Tillery are through to the fourth round of the FAW Trophy - the draw taking place at tomorrow's council meeting.

Tillery gained a 4-1 home win over Pontlottyn on Saturday, improving by one goal on the 3-1 league success of the previous week. Neil Mapp (2) , Chris Bennett and Shaun Smith scored for Tillery who led 2-0 at the break.

Tillery doubled their scored before Pontlottyn scored a late consolation through Gerald Davies.

Tillery have finally landed former goalkeeper Tony Lewis who had several seasons with them when they competed as Cwmtillery. Lewis' last club was Gwent County League side Cefn Fforest.

Tillery player-manage David Webley, who has been enjoying a stand-in spell as keeper, can now revert to an outfield role.

In-form Andy Gay scored all Risca's goals at Llangeinor - but still finished on the losing side, his last 20 seconds from full time to force extra time.

Risca went out of the competition 5-4 after extra time, the teams locked at 4-4 following 90 minutes.

Risca conceded the match-winning goal in the first period of extra time. Pontlottyn centre back Ian Munro has signed for Tredegar Town and almost certain to make his debut at home to Treharris on Saturday.
