POLICE are hunting a man who attempted to rob a bus driver in Newport on Saturday. The incident happened on the 18A Newport to Bettws bus service at 4pm.
The attempt was made shortly before the bus arrived at Bettws Shopping Centre. The driver was not hurt and police are appealing for witnesses.
The suspect, who left the bus at the shopping centre, was described by police as a mixed-race man with closely cropped hair and wearing a beige jacket.
Police would like to speak to anyone who was on the bus or may have seen the suspect before or after he was in the vehicle.
