A CALDICOT soldier displayed his musical talents in Holland to mark the anniversary of a famous battle of the Second World War.
Musician Daniel Lewis, 20, of the Band of the Parachute Regiment, took part in the ceremony to commemorate the Battle of Arnhem in 1944.
The battle started on September 17 and lasted a week. Almost 4,000 troops were involved in the operation.
Daniel and the rest of the band performed for thousands of people at Ooserbeek. They played at the original "drop zone" of Ginkle Heath, last Saturday, where thousands of British paratroopers landed to try to stop the German assault.
During the commemorations 11 veterans of the original assault re-enacted their parachute jump, accompanied by 255 paratroopers from the 4th Battalion, the Parachute Regiment.
The former Caldicot Comprehensive School pupil is based in Colchester, Essex.
