WELSH-born Moslem Brian Kaid (pictured) has decided to donate even more of the profits from a planned pigeon sale to aid victims of the American terrorist attacks.
Last week, the Argus revealed that the Newport pigeon breeder was going to hand over at least 20 per cent of the profits from the sale.
But the father-of-seven now says that 50 per cent of the profits, after costs, will be given "from the hearts of the Kaid family" to those affected by the tragedy in New York.
"My spiritual belief and strength come from my pigeons. I believe my pigeons have given me a direction through the Koran to preach peace."
Mr Kaid, of Waterloo Road, said religion should never be used for conflict: "The true Moslem preaches peace."
The 46-year-old widower has been breeding racing pigeons for many years and some have been world champions.
He has held pigeon sales in the past which have raised thousands of pounds for charities.
In Blackpool, on September 30, he will be putting 107 birds up for auction. He hopes the amount taken at the sale will beat the British record of £65,000.
