SOME politicians are firmly backing military action against those who devastated the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.

Monmouth's Labour MP Huw Edwards (pictured) said: "I think it is right to join with the United States in taking the necessary action against the perpetrators of those attacks and those who harbour them.

"But I agree that the response needs to be measured and well-planned and that is the message Tony Blair is trying get across to President Bush."

South-East Wales' Conservative AM Will-iam Graham said: "I would support a military response on the basis that it is measured and accurate.

"They need to have firm evidence on who is the perpetrator because more innocent people cannot be killed.

"We need to show terrorism of any kind will not be tolerated."
