A business which started life as a sideline on a farm on the Herefordshire / Welsh border is now making the news in the West End and the City with some top interior fit-outs.

Taskworthy, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, is bringing state-of-the-art automated machining and finishing to a whole range of joinery materials.

The firm, which employs 21 people, provides bespoke solutions for a host of interiors from luxury London apartments to prestige receptions and retail shopfitting schemes.

Company founder Anthony Collins said: "We started serving central London developers and today we still have a big London presence.

"These and many other builders, developers and specifiers realise that it is much more cost effective to source made-to-measure joinery items from us than attempt to make them on site.

"We provide our customers with a complete turn-key service working alongside our clients to achieve the best solutions, coming up with ideas, prototyping and supplying final product to very high standards of finish and tolerance."

Company annual turnover is now nudging £1m and to cater for the expansion, the company has just moved to purpose designed 11,500 sq. ft. premises, not far from its origins at Pontrilas on the Herefordshire / Welsh border.

Taskworthy has a full manufacturing and production capability complete with special finishing booths and a £400,000 investment has been made in CAD/CAM and CNC equipment, introducing advanced technology to the manufacturing process.

The company is able to offer one-off purpose made interior furniture through to the larger made-to-measure items all fully finished on batch production to meet requirements.

Taskworthy has recently added agencies for two new products as part of its expansion programme.

It has taken on the distribution in the UK for the French range of Ravier hardwood panels and acrylic/wood combinations, and has also been appointed registered fabricator for Avonite, a non-porous stain resistant composite with which to create seamless surfaces ideal for food and healthcare applications.
