CWMBRAN Town boss Tony Willcox has slammed fellow League of Wales club Aberystwyth after they refused to move their clash back 24-hours.

Town were due to travel to West Wales today before the Football Association of Wales decided that all tonight's fixtures should be postponed as a mark of respect to the people killed by the terrorist attack in America.

Cwmbran wanted to switch the match to tomorrow afternoon, but Aberystwyth refused claiming they wouldn't have enough players.

"It's bang out of order really, it's a disgrace." said Willcox.

"I can quite understand the league postponing games after the terrible tragedy in America, but there is no excuse for Aberystwyth not to play on Saturday.

"It just isn't on. They should be forced to play the fixture, not given the option of playing if they feel like it.

"And to claim that they haven't got enough players is silly. How can it change from having a team for Friday night to not having one on Saturday afternoon."

Town officials have also accused Aberystwyth of using the situation to their advantage. According to the Gwent side, Aberystwyth have several key players injured, and while they would have had to play on Friday, the situation has given them a way out.

Willcox is furious with the way Aberystwyth have acted, but the Crows boss also believes the League of Wales should shoulder some of the blame.

"The league shouldn't have given teams playing on Friday night any option but to switch to Saturday," he said. "That way there wouldn't be any arguments.

"It doesn't do my side any good. The lads are flying after the win over Llanelli and now we have to go another weekend without playing. We also can't really afford to go into the winter months having to make a long trip during midweek."
