THEY don't like dance music or being told what to do. They do like easy- going harmonica, good tunes and supporting Wales.
Newport band Idiom play Riverside Tavern next week their second gig in the town in as many weeks. They played TJ's last Wednesday.
The three piece are Paul Hull (lead singer and guitarist), Tim Jones (backing vocals and drums) and Rhodri David (bassist). They met at St Julian's, Newport where the Paul and Tim are studying A-levels. Rhodri has since left for university.
The three are looking for a fourth member: "We want a keyboard player, but only a part-time one," said Paul. "We'd be more versatile.
"We would want them to play live. They could play acoustic guitar or something when they're not playing keyboards."
Idiom have been going one and a half years although their interest in music goes back much further than that.
They were inspired to form after looking at bands like Oasis, Blur, Stereophonics and the Manics, said Paul, who's not too keen on current sounds.
l Idiom play Riverside Tavern, Clarence Place, Newport on Tuesday September 18 with Clipper.
Idiom are on at 8pm. Entry is free.
