GLAMORGAN put the champagne on ice for the title l.ast night and celebrated promotion to the Norwich Union League Second Division with beer.
They made certain of going up to the 45-over league First Division with an exciting 51-runs victory over Hampshire in their day/night match at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
But man-of-the-match century maker Matthew Maynard said, "We'll have a big celebration when we win the title. We'll take it easy tonight.
"We realised if we won today we were definitely up because the other sides at the top have to play each other and they can't all pick up enough points.
"But we want to win the title. We are four points clear at the top and we want to stay there."
Maynard said of his superb century, "I enjoyed the knock. I came in at a tight time and batting at five now, I don't get that many chances to score centuries.
"The side needed it and it enabled me to break the record I shared with Hugh Morris (he now has 14 one-day centuries, a county record).
"I'm not a big records bloke, but if you pick some up it's nice."
Of the match, he said: "244 was a good target. I thought the wicket was better than the last one we played on when we got 250.
"But when we lost four quick wickets we had to consolidate and that's why we fell 10 or 15 short."
