Glamorgan's hopes of closing the gap on the sides above them in the race for the Division Two title were washed out at Lord's.
The visitors reached 100 for 3 off just 21 overs when play was halted at 3.15pm and after a further two-hour delay in which heavy rain continued to fall, play was finally abandoned at 5.20pm.
Both sides take two points each, but with little or no play possible in the matches affecting the Dragons' nearest rivals, the table will remain largely unchanged.
Glamorgan had entered the game on the back of four successive victories while the young Middlesex side will be glad to see the back of this season.
However, one of their elder statesmen still had time in his allotted eight-over spell to show some professional pride and claim the three wickets that fell.
Former England fast bowler Angus Fraser may be 36 years of age now, but he still had enough about him to finish with figures of three for 15 and reduce the visitors to 47 for three.
After just one over the players left the field for the first time and returned at 1.50pm.
Shortly after Fraser claimed his first wicket when he clean-bowled Keith Newell for 6.
His next victim was Robert Croft who holed out to Owais Shah for 13. Ian Thomas completed Fraser's wicket count when he was trapped leg before for 15.
Glamorgan coach Jeff Hammond said: "It's disappointing as this is a game that we would expect to win eight times out of 10."
