CROSS Keys have almost finished a massive restructuring of the club following their relegation from the Welsh Scottish League last season (writes Paul Tully).
Three more recent signings have brought the number of new players at the club to a 16 with another two likely.
This is in addition to a change of coaches after the departure of David Rees and Geraint Jones.
John Hall-Moore, Robert Beale and Steve Hill are the new men in charge along with new fitness adviser Gareth Turner, a former Army fitness instructor from Risca.
The three latest recruits are backs Morgan Lovell and David Price and forward Andrew Brown.
Centre Lovell, once at Newport, has joined from UWIC, a prolific hunting ground for Keys. Price is another UWIC recruit, the former Wales under-21 centre also having been at Newbridge, while Brown is a young hooker from Newport.
Those signed so far include: Backs: Shaun Marshall (Caerphilly), Rhys Potter (Ebbw Vale), Neil Hope (Abertillery), Jason Larkman (UWIC), Gareth Davies (Abercynon), David Price (UWIC), Gethin Worgan (Llanharan), Gareth Thomas (Carmarthen Quins), Morgan Lovell (UWIC). Forwards: Dean Gibbs (Newbridge), Christian Penny (Abertillery), Matthew Veater (Blackwood), Martin Jones (Risca), Andrew Brown (Newport), Matthew Wood (UWIC), Paul Davies (Risca).
In addition to players so far mentioned, such as Nick Kelly (Pontypridd), Darren Davies (Caerphilly), Colin Ellis (Mold) and Tom Walsh (Rugby), the club have also released Arthur Howarth, who could return to Pontypool, and Jaime Webb. Outside half Webb has moved to the London area and has joined Henley, for whom former Keys product Peter Davies also plays. Keys open their new First Division campaign with a home game against Bonymaen on September 1.
